Sew Your Own Solar System

June 4, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

| Free
Hand sewn felt solar system with plastic buttons

Do you remember the correct order of the planets? Would you like to have a visual reminder of our solar system?

Well, look no further. The Kahuku Cool Lab has a hand sewing project that will help you retain the names of the eight orbiting planets around our sun.

Using felt, embroidery thread, and multi-colored buttons, we will teach participants how to sew buttons that represent planetary characteristics (size and color) and their distance from the sun. Each participant will be able to take their solar system home and enjoy.

This project will require hand-eye coordination and patience.

Register below as we will have limited supplies. Supplies generously supplied by the Friends of the Library Kahuku.

If you need an auxiliary aid/service or accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days prior to the program date. We will make every attempt to fulfill all requests for accommodations. All programs are subject to change. For a list of upcoming library events, visit www.librarieshawaii.org/events
