Christopher Yohmei Blasdel is a master shakuhachi musician. He will perform original and Japanese compositions. This 45-minute program is suitable for ages 5+. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver.
Blasdel resides in Hawai’i but performs and teaches around the world. He has released several CDs, published books, and written numerous articles on the shakuhachi and Japanese music.
This is a production of the University of Hawai‘i Outreach College’s Statewide Cultural Extension Program. Additional funding and support is provided by the Tom F. Carpenter Memorial Fund, National Endowment for the Arts, Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, and Friends of the Mt. View Public and School Library.

In observance of the Christmas holiday, all public libraries will be closed on Monday, December 25, 2023. Libraries that are normally open on Saturday and Sunday will also be closed on December 23 and 24.
