Skill Builders: Library & Research is a hands-on program designed for homeschooling families who want to develop strong academic skills in a supportive library setting. This program is usually taught by Ms. Pukahi, a former Elementary School Librarian Teacher. Stepping in this week is our YA Librarian, Mrs. Kylee.

Participants will:

• Learn how to navigate the library catalog and digital databases.
• Practice locating reliable and age-appropriate sources.
• Develop strategies for evaluating and organizing information.
• Gain experience writing clear, structured research papers.
• Create presentations using Google Slides.
• Share their work with library friends, building confidence in public speaking and peer learning.

Students may borrow a library Chrome book or bring their own devices for research, writing, and presentations. Parents will appreciate the structured skill-building, while students will enjoy the creativity and teamwork of presenting what they’ve learned.

This program provides a supportive environment where homeschoolers can explore their curiosity, build essential academic skills, and celebrate their learning with a community of peers.

Appropriate for school ages elementary to high school.
