Spooky Stories with Aunty Ipo

October 27, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Cover of Honto 4 Real

Do you love getting shivers down your spine, and the feel of “chicken skin?” Do you believe in the supernatural or is it just fiction and an overactive imagination? Come listen to Aunty Ipo Maeda-Nakamine, author of “Honto 4 Real”, as she tells stories of local occurrences from the beyond. Take a journey with Aiea Public Library into Hawaii’s supernatural encounters, but be prepared…

In this program, best for ages 8 and up, storyteller, folklorist, and shaman Moira “Ipo” Maeda-Nakamine will tell tales based on true stories that have either happened to her, her family members or close friends. For those who do not care to believe in the supernatural, these tales can be enjoyed as fiction. For those who do believe that the dead walks, or are searching for answers, these stories will hopefully provide insight into the shadow world.

All programs are subject to change.  If you require an auxiliary aid or accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days before the program date.  For a list of upcoming library events, visit www.librarieshawaii.org/events.
