Spooky Tales, Local Style

October 26, 2024 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Photo of Lopaka Kapanui.

Please join us for some haunting stories of Hawaiʻi with Lopaka Kapanui, a Hawaiian Master Storyteller, writer, actor, Kumu Hula, cultural practitioner and former professional wrestler. There will even be stories from ʻEwa and Kapolei!

Discover history and tales as he shares haʻi moʻolelo, storytelling through oral traditions of the rich area and perhaps learn something new that you may not have known about one of the oldest residential neighborhoods on the island of Oʻahu.

With nearly 25 years of experience in storytelling and the ghost tour business, Lopaka’s extensive research on local culture, history, language, and folklore and knowledge of Hawaiʻi has garnered him a reputation as Hawaiʻi’s ghost guy. You definitely don’t want to miss this!

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible.
