Important Alert #2: The Kaneohe Public Library will be closed for approximately one month, starting January 2, 2019 for a parking lot improvement project. The book drop will be closed from 10 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018 and remain closed until the library reopens. During the closure, borrowed items may be returned to any public library. The Japanese art of Sumi-e, or ink painting, involves limiting details to capture the essence of the subject. The art requires only simple materials such as black ink, water, rice paper, & brushes.
Artist Hisae Shouse and her students will display their Sumi-e paintings in the First Floor Reading Room. This Japanese brush painting exhibition will be on display until October 26th and is open to the public during library hours.
