Hawaiian History Talk Story- Kamehameha and the Four Uncles

June 16, 2025 @ 5:30 pm - 6:50 pm

Kamehameha Statue Sketch

Come listen to local historian Boyd Bond speak about Kamehameha and the Four Kona Uncles!

“In June we celebrate the Aliʻi Nui who united the islands into a single kingdom. Our history tells us that any successful aliʻi surrounds him or herself with strong advisors, and for Kamehameha, this famously included the “Four Kona Uncles” who helped bring success to his efforts. Come join us on Monday evening as we explore the relationship between these men and their influence on Kohala’s favorite son in his conquest of the Hawaiian islands.”

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. All programs are subject to change.
