Spirits of Old Hawaiʻi

Pre-contact Hawaiʻi was a magical place indeed! There were gods and demi-gods always around us, and the spirit members of the family visited the physical world to bring us messages or warn of dangers. Animals and plants could animate and converse with people, and heros wielded magic weapons like talking spears and flying clubs! Just in time for the western celebration of ‘All Hallows Eve,’ come hear historian Boyd Bond describe the spirit world of the Hawaiians, and learn the difference between mana and kupua!
