Teen Cinema Club Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Movie fans are invited to join the Teen Cinema Club for our first meeting, featuring a screening of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (PG-13).

Bring a movie suggestion for next month’s meeting and come in costume for a chance to win a gift card to Puna Chocolate Company!

This program is suitable for middle schoolers and high schoolers.

Classic movie snacks & Halloween treats will be served while supplies last.

Mahalo nui to the Friends of the Libraries, Kona (F.O.L.K.) for sponsoring this program.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required.

HOLIDAY CLOSURE | In observance of Christmas Day, all public libraries will be closed on Friday, December 25, 2026.

ALERT #1 | Sunday 8/16/2026 - Three public libraries on Oʻahu (Kāneʻohe, Kaimukī, and Pearl City) will be closed on Sunday, August 16, 2026 due to the anticipated storm system. All programs on Oʻahu are canceled for Sunday, August 16, 2026.  

ALERT #2 | Monday 8/17/26

Closed Monday: Nāʻālehu and Pāhala Libraries.
Delayed Opening (Monday 1:00 PM): Libraries on Hawaiʻi Island, Maui County, and Oʻahu (pending safety damage assessments).
Cancellations: All library programs on Hawaiʻi Island, Maui County, and Oʻahu are cancelled.
Normal Hours: All Kauaʻi libraries open as scheduled on Monday.
