November 25, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Please join us in the Front Lobby where local Tekniqlingz Dance Group will perform many Filipino folk dances such as Maglalatik (an indigenous dance, involving coconut shell halves); Pandanggo sa ilaw (the dance evolved from Fandango, a Spanish folk dance); Sakuting (originally performed solely by boys, portrays a mock fight using sticks); Itik, itik (an itik is a species of duck and this dance imitates movements of a duck); Carinosa (meaning the loving or affectionate one; the fan or handkerchief plays an instrumental role as it places the couple in a romantic scenario); Tinikling (the dance involves two people beating, tapping, and sliding bamboo poles on the ground and against each other in coordination with one or more dancers who step over and in between the poles in a dance.)

Program schedule is subject to change.  Contact the library 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
