This summer, learn to make a tī leaf lei!
Our instructor is Bernadette Kamano, an 18th-generational Kanaka ʻŌiwi of Hawaiʻi. Kamano learned the art of lei making from master lei maker/musician Florence Mockchew. All supplies will be provided. Gardening clothes recommended in case of staining from plant material.
Suitable for adults with no prior lei making experience, this program is limited to 12 participants. Contact the library to reserve your spot.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. For a schedule of events, go to the HSPLS Events Calendar.
