Come celebrate the start of the 2019 Summer Reading Program “Universe of Stories” with acclaimed children’s musicians Uncle Wayne and the Howling Dog Band!
Since 2010, Uncle Wayne and the Howling Dog Band, Uncle Wayne, Mr. Girish & Dr. Pfahl, have been barnstorming Hawaii’s libraries, schools and festivals creating a musical ruckus with every show. Their original songs, a unique blend of island flavored bluegrass, folk and blues make children and their grownups want to dance and sing along. Playing 80+ shows a year, it’s no wonder Hana Hou magazine dubbed them “the hardest-working band in keiki showbiz.”
This 2 hour program is suitable for all ages. Uncle Wayne and the Howling Dog Band will perform for the first 45 minutes. Afterwards enjoy creating a make-and-take space or STEM crafts by Family Hui Hawaii. View the table with resource materials and information from Department of Health, Hawaii Children’s Action Network (HCAN), and Family Hui Hawaii (FHH).
Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver.
Sponsored by the Hawaii State Department of Health and supported by Hawaii Children’s Action Network, Family Hui Hawaii, and the Hawaii State Public Library System.
If you need an auxiliary aid/service or other accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days prior to the program date. We will make every attempt to fulfill all requests for accommodations. All programs are subject to change.
