Art and History Exhibition Closing Reception: Artist Talks

Meet featured artists as they share the inspiration behind their work.

We Tell Our Story: A History of Resistance & Resilience as It Defined the Filipinos of Hawai’i (curated by Ellen-Rae Cachola and Marie Antonette Anamong Ramos) is offered by FAUW, a non-profit organization that aims to preserve, support, and share the history, art and culture of Filipinos and Filipino Americans. This exhibition features a historical timeline grounded in the resistance and resilience of Filipinos in Hawai’i, along with art and creative projects by local high school students and community members. This project aims to help others understand and appreciate the Filipino experience in Hawai’i through writing workshops and public sharing.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. Program schedule is subject to change.
