We are excited to present a free program in collaboration with the State Department of Land & Natural Resources’ Division of Forestry & Wildlife (DLNR-DOFAW), aimed at educating the community about the Forest Reserve System, the Big Island Invasive Species Council, and how to “Plant Pono” for environmental stewardship.
Join us for this interactive 60-minute event, where a DLNR expert from Hawai‘i Island will discuss how to safeguard our environment and address the challenges posed by invasive species. Following the presentation, attendees will have the chance to create their own seed balls to take home, enhancing our local ecosystem’s sustainability.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. Program schedule is subject to change.
