Introducing Kahuku Public and School Library’s first Youth Book Club which will include discussions about a selected book, section by section.
These sessions will be facilitated by Retired Education (BYUH) Professor Karen Latham.
The first session, please be ready to discuss pages 1 through 70.
Assigned pages will be announced at the end of the sessions.
A reading guide is available at the Kahuku Public and School Library and will help participants organize their thoughts.
Reading guide notes will be used to make a book journal that can be kept afterwards.
Also, each participant will create a special keepsake keychain with their favorite character. Supplies will be provided.
We will have videos and music to accompany the discussions, too.
Each session will be 1 hour long and there will be 4 sessions held consecutively on Wednesdays- August 21, 28, September 4, 11.
This program is best suited for upper elementary and intermediate school students.
The next Youth Book Club selection will be announced at the final session on September 11, along with the dates.
