SUMMARY:442nd Regimental Combat Team Movie - Go for Broke!
DESCRIPTION:Location: Meeting Room \nDuring World War II\, Lt. Michael Grayson is a newly commissioned American Army officer who looks forward to being assigned to the 36th Texas Division. Instead\, he is put in charge of Japanese-American soldiers\, who form the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. Grayson is bigoted and uneasy about the assignment\, but when the unit goes into combat in Italy\, he admires their courage and determination. The 442nd eventually becomes the most decorated unit in the U.S. Army. \nBecause the movie Go for Broke! was released decades before the modern MPAA rating system was established in 1968\, it never received a rating. However\, if evaluated by modern standards\, the film would comfortably fit a PG rating due to its historical war action and complete absence of explicit content. Parental guidance is suggested. \nMahalo to the Friends of Kaimuki Public Library for sponsoring this event. \nAnyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication\, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program\, service\, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged\, but not required. All programs are subject to change. See a schedule of upcoming events on the HSPLS Events Calendar.
