SUMMARY:Pokémon Club Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Welcome Trainers! \nYou’ve been practicing – now it’s time to put your knowedge and skills to the test! Have fun\, be kind\, and do your best! This tournament is about learning\, making friends\, and enjoying Pokémon together. Welcoming children and teens ages 5-18. Advanced registration is required. Call the library (808-323-7585) to sign up. \nDetails below: \nTournament Format  \n Everyone plays in every round.  \n\nPlayers will be matched against others with similar records. \nNo one is eliminated after a loss. \nEach round lasts 30 minutes. \nMatch Points: \nWin = 3 points \nTie = 1 point \nLoss = 0 points \n\nAfter your match is over\, report your points to a Judge. The players with the most points at the end of the tournament will be our Tournament Champions! \nThe Rules \n\nBe respectful to all players. \nShake hands\, fist bump\, or say “Good game” after each match.  \nBe patient with younger or newer players. \nHave fun!\nUse your own deck or borrow from the library (only one EX/GX/Mega/V card per deck). \nShuffle your deck before each game. \nPlay to 4 prize cards. \nIf you need help with a rule\, raise your hand for a Judge. Judge decisions are final. \nPlayers will be notified when there are 5 minutes remaining in the match. When time is called the match is over. If no winner is determined\, the match is a tie. \n\n This program is thanks to a partnership with AASL/ALSC and the Pokémon Company. Additional supplies are generously funded by Friends of the Libraries\, Kona (F.O.L.K.). \nAnyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication\, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program\, service\, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged\, but not required. Program schedule is subject to change.
