SUMMARY:Play With Your Food: Pasta Art
DESCRIPTION:Let’s play with pasta! Children will be given an assortment of dry colored pasta shapes to create a work of art. Other crafting supplies will be available to create with. Make your art while visiting the library or take home to create. Registration is not required and materials will be provided on a first come\, first served basis. \nThis program is free and suitable for children ages 4 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Mahalo to the Friends of the Hilo Public Library for generously funding this program. \nAnyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication\, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program\, service\, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged\, but not required.\nAll programs are subject to change.

DESCRIPTION:     Meet our newest therapy dog Adaka!  This  program is designed to give children and teens a chance to enjoy reading aloud with no pressure and no judgment. However\, if you don’t want to read to the dog\, you can just visit.  All the dogs that participate are specially trained and can help kids of all ages practice reading aloud without judgment.  If you want a comfortable setting to practice your reading fluency\, reading comprehension\, or comfort with canines in general\, this is the event for you.  Registration is not required. \nAnyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication\, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program\, service\, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged\, but not required.\nAll programs are subject to change.
