This challenge is a simple\, yet fun approach to establishing strong early literacy skills and helps young children gain the confidence necessary to become strong readers. \nThe concept is simple: read a book\, any book to your child\, with the goal of reading 1\,000 before kindergarten.  Each participant will receive a special passport and may have their passports “stamped” for each 100 books read.   \nPick up your packet when you register at our Children’s Reference Desk.  Registration will start on Saturday\, September 07\, 2024. \nThis program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library Kapolei. \nAnyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication\, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program\, service\, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged\, but not required. All programs are subject to change.
