Holiday Schedules

All public libraries and support offices will be closed in observance of the upcoming state holidays:

2025 Closures

  • Labor Day – Saturday to Monday, August 30 to September 1
  • Veterans Day – Tuesday, November 11
  • Thanksgiving Day – Thursday, November 27
  • Christmas Day – Thursday, December 25

2026 Closures

  • New Year’s Day – Thursday, January 1
  • Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – Monday, January 19
    Libraries that are typically closed on Mondays will observe this holiday on Tuesday, January 20.
  • Presidents’ Day – Saturday to Monday, February 14 to 16
  • Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole Day – Thursday, March 26
  • Good Friday – Friday, April 3
    The Kaimukī, Kāneʻohe, and Pearl City branches that are typically open on Sundays will be closed to observe Easter on April 5, 2026.
  • Memorial Day – Saturday to Monday, May 23 to 25
  • King Kamehameha Day – Thursday, June 11
