IN CELEBRATION OF THE 2017 SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Join the magical adventures of stories! Magician & storyteller Yasu Ishida will share stories from all over the world told in Kamishibai (“Paper-Theatre”) style, incorporating magic tricks and various paper art forms, including Origami and Pop-Up Arts. Kamishibai is a storytelling style, which became popular in Japan during the 1920s. This 45-minute program is suitable for preschoolers and lower elementary students. All children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver.

Edwards Memorial fund. This is a production of the University of Hawaii at Manoa Outreach College’s Statewide Cultural Extension Program with additional funding and support provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, and the University of Hawaii.
