Get, use, and change my PIN

How do I know what my library card PIN number is?

Your PIN, or Personal Identification Number, is a 4-digit number that allows you to access your personal library account information. It is usually the last four digits of your telephone number.

You will need your PIN when using online services like requesting library materials via the HSPLS online catalog, making reservations for internet computer use, or using online resources for research or learning.

How do I change my library card PIN number?

To change your PIN, follow these steps

  1. Click the “My Account” link
  2. Login using your 10 digit library card number and current PIN
  3. Under “Profile,” you will be prompted to fill in three blanks; your old PIN (once), and your new PIN (twice)
  4. Click UPDATE

How do I get my PIN number if I don’t remember what it is?

If you can no longer recall your 4-digit PIN or need assistance in changing the number, please visit your favorite library branch in person. You will need to bring a valid photo ID and your library card so that staff can verify your identity. This process is designed to protect you and ensure that no one else misuses your library card account.
