Protect Yourself on the Internet! Attend a Cyber Safety Awareness Program

The Hawaii State Public Library System, in partnership with the Hawaii Department of Defense Office of Homeland Security and the International Security Consortium (ISC)2 Hawaii Chapter, will be offering “Safe and Secure: Protect Yourself on the Internet” cyber safety awareness programs at various public libraries throughout the month of October.

Cyber security professionals will discuss malware protection, using strong passwords, wifi usage, online shopping and banking, scams, safe email habits, phishing, data backup, and social media. These free one-hour programs will include a question & answer session. Teens, college students and adults are encouraged to attend!

“Having the knowledge and skills to protect our personal information and identities in the virtual world is vital in the 21st Century. The Hawaii State Public Library System is happy to be a part of this important learning opportunity,” said State Librarian Stacey Aldrich.
