The Hawaii State Public Library System is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The Hawaii State Public Library System’s website is designed to be compatible with a wide variety of browsers, and with assistive technologies in mind. To this end, our website conforms to W3C’s “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level AA. Our goal is to continue to work to make access available to all individuals, and therefore we will continue to improve our compatibility based on new standards.

In state observance of Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole Day, libraries that are normally closed on Mondays will observe the holiday and be closed on Tuesday, March 28th.
