Mahina ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian Language Month) is a time to learn, practice, and speak ʻŌlelo Hawai‘i. Whether you’re a beginner or fluent speaker, celebrate this month with books, music and learning opportunities at your local library or online.

• Learn a Hawaiian Word of the Day
• Learn Hawaiian online with Mango Languages, or with book/CD sets, or books either in Hawaiian only, or that are bilingual.
• Enjoy Hawaiian music CDs, including recorded live concerts.
• Watch DVDs of performances like Holo Mai Pele, documentaries like Ho‘ohali‘a: Stories From Our Kupuna, or films like Disney’s Moana in Hawaiian.
• Read a popular book that’s been translated into ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i: Harry Potter a me ka pōhaku akeakamai translated by Keao NeSmith. Hobbit. (Ka Hopita: a i ʻole i laila a hoʻi hou mai) translated by Keao NeSmith.
• Watch this Middle Grade Book Talk: Harry Potter a me ka pōhaku akeakamai Na J.K. Rowling (in ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi and English)
