Are you a high school student on Oahu with a passion for peace? The USS Missouri Memorial is hosting an exciting Speech Contest for grades 9-11, encouraging you to reflect on how you can actively contribute to a peaceful society.

The prompt for this year’s contest, “What can I do for peace? What can I actively do to cultivate a peaceful society?” invites students to craft a powerful 3-minute speech, with the chance to win incredible prizes, including a VIP experience at the 80th Anniversary of the End of WWII Commemoration Ceremony aboard the USS Missouri.

Finalists will be featured on the Memorial’s website and social media channels, along with exclusive opportunities like a private tour and a signed copy of “Pearl Harbor Child”. Submissions are due by April 25, 2025, so don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to make your voice heard!
