Kaneohe Public Library

The Kaneohe Public Library temporarily closed on February 26, 2024 for a construction project.

A small pop-up location offering limited services is available inside the Windward Mall, near Ross Dress for Less, Fun Factory and Panda Express. Patrons will be able to borrow from a small collection of materials, pick-up holds, return borrowed items, use computers and wi-fi service. The pop-up location will maintain the same hours as the library.

At this time, the construction project is scheduled to be completed by Fall 2025.

About Kaneohe Public Library:
Our library, which opened in its present location in January 1963, was built to serve a community that is both urban and rural. It also serves as a back-up reference and resource library for our Windward public libraries in Kahuku, Kailua, and Waimanalo. The entire family will be educated and entertained by weekly storytimes and our monthly Game & Activity Days, Lego Club, and Movie Nights.

Storyteller Dave Del Rocco

Celebrate Summer Reading! Our theme is E Heluhelu Kākou: Mele, and Hawaii’s public libraries will be celebrating the power of storytelling through music, chants, and poetry.

Storyteller Dave Del Rocco will share folktales from every corner of the globe, including Laos, Hawai‘i, Italy, Alaska, the Philippines, Africa, and more. These tales, appropriate for all ages but especially for children ages 5-12, are mostly funny and explain how different cultures view aspects of their world.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i. This is a production of the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Outreach College’s Statewide Cultural Extension Program with additional funding provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, and the University of Hawai‘i.
