Welcome to the Waimānalo Public and School Library! Designed by Ernest H. Hara and Associates, our library opened on Feb. 25, 1978. We are located on the campus of Waimānalo Elementary and Intermediate School. More than half of Waimānalo ‘s current residents and library patrons are of Hawaiian or part-Hawaiian descent.

Experience dynamic performances, explore Japan’s diverse regional drumming styles, and take part in a hands-on taiko lesson. Reflecting our Summer Reading theme, ‘Umeke Kāeo: A Calabash Full to the Brim, this program brings together a rich blend of rhythms, stories, and cultural traditions in one vibrant celebration.

Help reduce paper, plastic and food waste! Creatively repurpose a promotional gift bag into a reusable carrier for restaurant leftovers. Also, learn the versatile embroidery blanket stitch to embellish your transformed work. Ideas for other uses for your bag and blanket stitch applications will be shared in this 90-minute workshop by local eco-crafter Evelyn Nakamura.
