Kanopy: Stream Movies, Documentaries & Kids Favorites

Kanopy website promotionKanopy is a video streaming service that provides instant access to thousands of critically acclaimed movies, documentaries, and Kids favorites. Kanopy partners with studios like A24, The Criterion Collection, PBS and more to bring your library access to thoughtful entertainment. Free streaming access is available with your HSPLS library card.

Kanopy also has a Kids collection that includes animated storybooks, family-friendly movies, and popular titles like Arthur, Babar, Sesame Street and more. You can create parental controls so that your children watch the best films and series just for them.

How Can I Watch Kanopy?

You can stream Kanopy on any of your favorite devices! Kanopy is accessible via mobile and tablet apps for iPhone and Android. You can also access Kanopy on your Desktop, and SmartTV apps like Roku, Apple TV, and Fire TV Stick.

Begin Using Kanopy

To get started:

  1. Visit HSPLS’s Kanopy website and select the “Add Library Card” button on the lower left.
  2. Enter your ten-digit library card number and PIN. If you do not know your PIN, contact your local library.
  3. Create an account using your preferred email.
  4. Begin streaming!

Using Your Tickets

Kanopy now uses a simplified ticket system for streaming. Each title clearly displays the number of tickets required and the viewing period next to the play button.

  • 9 tickets per month
  • Tickets reset monthly; unused tickets don’t roll over
  • Unlimited access to Kanopy Kids – no tickets required
