MUSIC THERAPY is the use of music and/or its musical elements (sound, rhythm, melody and harmony) by a qualified music therapist, with a client or group, in a process designed to facilitate and promote communication, relationships, learning, mobilization, expression, organization and other relevant therapeutic objectives in order to meet physical, emotional, mental, social and cognitive needs.
This program is 18 weeks long, 1 hour each week. There is space available for 5 to 10 kupuna over the age of 60 years of age.
PRE-REGISTRATION is REQUIRED. SPACE IS LIMITED.

Sounding Joy’s Mission… is to enhance public awareness of benefits of music therapy, to increase accessibility to music therapy services, and to advance music therapy research, in order to improve quality of life through therapeutic uses of music.
