An altered book is “any book, old or new that has been recycled by creative means into a work of art. It can be…rebound, painted, cut, burned, folded, added to, collaged in, gold-leafed, rubber stamped, drilled or otherwise adorned.” – International Society of Altered Book Artists.
Come to the library to give new life to a book that is no longer in circulation! Show off your creativity by altering a book into a piece of art. To enter, pick up a discarded book and an entry form from the Reference Desk. Return your creation by September 30 to be considered.
Library patrons will vote during the month of October and winners will be chosen in the teen (13-17) and adult categories on November 4.
