Baby Rhyme Time: Special Guest, Hawaii Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program Care Specialist

October 4, 2023 @ 9:15 am - 10:30 am

Baby Rhyme Time Books

For week 2, we have a special guest following our Baby Rhyme Time.  Did you know that when lead gets into baby’s body it can make it hard for keiki to learn, pay attention and do well in school?  Listen as Camden Lam from Hawaii Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program shares valuable information.  Bring in two household items this week to get tested by an XRF machine that measures lead content.  This presentation will follow our regular Baby Rhyme Session.

9:15-9:40AM – Baby Rhyme Time

9:40-10:30AM- Lead Poisoning Prevention Program and Baby Open Play

This 6-week program is suitable for babies 0-23 months and their caregivers.  Learn ways to interact with your little one to promote brain growth, bonding and fun!  This short 20-minute program is filled with interactive rhymes, short read-alouds and songs.  Stick around for free-play and meet other caregivers in the community.  Older siblings are welcomed to join their baby sibling.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service or activity should contact the library as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required.
