October 18, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

| Free
felt cut outs of different transportation vehicles

Attend this monthly program to create felt stories for young children. F.E.L.T.E.R.s stands for Flannel/Felt Enhances Literacy Time and Encourages Reading. Children learn several skills by listening and then retelling felt board stories on their own, such as increased vocabulary, understanding of story sequence, characters, and opening and closing lines. New stories and templates are provided each month. Basic supplies provided by the Friends of the Library Kahuku (FOLK). This program is meant for caregivers and/or educators but is also open for families. Parents and their children can work side-by-side to create props for storytelling. Program is suitable for ages 8 and up and their adult caregivers.

Program schedule subject to change. Contact the library 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
