LEGO Junior Maker Program

December 14, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

A pile of colored LEGO bricks

Making is the simple act of doing. It is a physical experience that creates awareness of the fact that the world is constantly being built and rebuilt. Making is not an end result of finished project; rather, it’s what is learned through the process.

In partnership with the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) and LEGO Systems, Inc., the Kailua-Kona Public Library has received over 10,000 LEGO bricks and will provide making programs for playing, exploring, tinkering, experimenting, and developing creativity.

The program is limited to the first 20 children and their adult partners. In-house tickets will be given out at 2:40 p.m., 20 minutes prior to the start of the event. Projects are the property of the library, and LEGO bricks will be recycled for future programs. You may opt to have your creation on display for the month following the program.

Program schedule is subject to change. Children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver. Contact the library 15 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
