Peace of Mind: Caregiving and End-of-Life Decisions
You have firm ideas about what kind of funeral you’d like, but does your family know about them? Are some of your relatives starting to need more assistance? Do your loved ones know what kind of end-of-life care you want?
Talking about death, caregiving, and end-of-life decisions is not easy. Many of us don’t know where to start or are afraid of raising the subject with loved ones.
Let’s Talk Story, an interactive program with Kōkua Mau, Hawaii’s Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, will help people start thinking and talking about how they make decisions, who should be involved, and what types of medical care they want and don’t want. It will also cover basics of advance care planning and an overview of Advance Directives (AD) and POLST (Providers Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment).
All programs are subject to change. If you require an auxiliary aid or accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days before the program date.
