Come for a meet and greet event with author Jim Mayfield and illustrator Monika Iwata. This free 1 hour event will include story read alouds, talks about the creative process, prize give-aways, and a book sale fundraiser to support the Wahiawa Public Library. Visit or contact the library for information on the coloring activities to get extra entries for the book prize drawing.
Born and raised in Hawai‘i, Jim fulfilled his dream to write stories that shared his love of the uniqueness of each island area featured in his books, “Goodnight , Goodnight, Lahaina Town,” “Goodnight Mokuluas,” “Goodnight, Waikiki, Goodnight,” and “A Busy Day on the North Shore.” He joined Wahiawa artist, Monika, to create three board books using her distinct calming style fitting for bedtime stories.
This event will be held in Wahiawa Public Library’s meeting room. All ages are invited to attend and join in the fun. No registration is required for this event. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Funding for this program is made possible by the generous donations of Jim Mayfield and the Friends of the Wahiawa Library.
