Using the Internet

This short course describes and demonstrates basic uses of the Internet.  Listed below are the specific topics to be covered.

  1. History of the Internet
  2. Setting up your computer for internet use
  3. Searching for information on the internet
  4. Online dictionary, library, newspaper, maps, shopping, banking, radio, television, …
  5. Setting up and using electronic mail (e-mail)

It is recommended to bring an internet-accessible device to practice the materials covered in class.

About the instructor: Arthur Goshtasby recently retired as the Professor of Computer Science and Engineering from Wright University in Dayton, Ohio and moved to the Big Island.
