Reading Tails with Pierre and Maile

Read to a Dog

It's puppy love!  Beginning readers are invited to read to a service dog who digs books.  It's a great way to improve literacy skills and it's fun!  Sign-ups begin at 2:00 pm on the day of the program.  This program is brought to you by Hawaii FI-DO Service Dogs. Read to a Therapy Dog

Read to registered therapy dogs of K9 Hawaii.  All the dogs that participate are specially trained and can help kids practice reading aloud without judgment.  Recent research has shown that reading to therapy dogs can boost reading skills in children, as well as help with emotional and social skills.
