This event is for adults and teens who are interested in tabletop gaming, including Euro games.

Bring your favorites to introduce to others and/or borrow some from the library’s collection!

Hawai‘i Poet Laureate Lee A. Tonouchi wen go lose his mom in one tragic car accident when he wuz two. Later on, Lee discovered that writing about da people you lose can be cathartic, healing, and help oddah people to share their stories.

In dis workshop Lee going share more about his personal writing journey. An’den using his technique of “talk story poetry” he going encourage workshop attendees for write their own pieces honoring those dey wen lose.

We welcome attendees from high-school age to seniors to join us in creating a safe space for writing, reflection and sharing.

This program is co-sponsored by the Hawaiʻi Council for the Humanities and the Hawaiʻi State Foundation on Culture and the Arts.

Listen to a picture book read aloud and then do an art or craft activity inspired by the illustrations!

Join RTMI (Read To Me International) & the Waimea Public Library for readalouds, a light dinner, and a kid-friendly craft! Families who register for the RTMI & Waimea (Kauaʻi) Public Library Family Literacy Night and fill out a survey after the program can choose a FREE new picture book to take home.

You can register for Family Literacy Night online (link forthcoming) or you are welcome to call the library at 808-338-6848 to tell staff you’d like to register.

We appreciate your advance registration which helps us plan for books, food, and craft supplies.

This monthly program (3rd Mondays) is especially for families with children 4-8 years old, and younger/older siblings are welcome to join.
