Join us for a festive “Christmas in July” celebration at the library! We’ll be showing a classic holiday movie while enjoying festive snacks and fun winter-themed crafts.

Join puppetry artist Bonnie Kim for Tūtū’s Garden, a 60-minute performance for ages 6+ celebrating the joy of growing, sharing, and enjoying food. Through puppetry and Hawaiian stories, this delightful program explores cultural traditions, abundance, and caring for the land.

Bonnie Kim is a Hawaiʻi Island-based puppeteer and multidisciplinary artist whose performances have been presented throughout Hawaiʻi, the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i. This is a production of the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Outreach College’s Statewide Cultural Extension Program.

Storytime is great fun for keiki and their families! Join us for stories and songs followed by a simple craft or activity. Suitable for children ages 3-5 accompanied by an adult.

On the first Saturday of each month, the Waimea Arts Council (WAC), in partnership with Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library, instructs a class  on a variety of art forms.  WAC artists create monthly classes about art, from watercolors to sculpting.  The classes are held in the library meeting room, with all supplies provided by the Waimea Arts Council.  Class size is limited and advance registration is required for each class.  Come in person or call Thelma Parker Library at 808-887-6067 to register.
