Japanese children frequently receive monetary gifts in little envelopes called “pochibukuro.” The New Year’s pochibukuro is called “otoshidama.” This pragmatic practice has other applications, as well.

In this one hour session, Evelyn Nakamura will teach you how to make three simple pochibukuro from found materials, and show you how they can be adapted for other purposes.
