The Kahului Public Library presents Children’s Storytime! Come Thursday mornings for simple stories, songs, movement, and fun!

Come and learn the Hawaiian cultural art of coconut frond weaving with us at Kahului Library.

Suitable for all ages. Materials provided. All skill levels, no prior experience needed.

Explore your creativity in a hands-on program where no two classes are the same. Each session you will be working with a new medium. From painting and drawing, to sculpture, collage and more!

Have fun, be creative, and experiment in a teen only environment led by teachers from the Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center . No experience needed.

For teens ages 13-19.

As the regional branch of Maui County, Kahului Library is actively working to preserve, promote, and perpetuate Hawaiian culture by collaborating with local cultural practitioners. Join us for a lauhala weaving class led by Leiana Sing-Keliikoa. Accompanied by special guests, Leiana will be instructing us in the ancient Hawaiian practice of lauhala weaving. Suited for adults and youths. All skill levels, no prior experience required.

2026 is Makahiki Kuleana Kahakai: the Year of Our Coastal Kuleana.

Discover the fascinating wetland birds, shoreline birds, and seabirds of Hawaiʻi! Join a local expert to learn about the coastal habitats found in our community, the native birds that depend on them, and simple ways you can help protect these special places through conservation and volunteer opportunities. This free, 30-minute program is fun and informative for all ages.

Presented by the Hawaiʻi Department of Land and Natural Resources’ Division of Forestry and Wildlife, in partnership with local conservation organizations.
