Welcome to the Kaimukī Public Library! Designed by local architect Shoso Kagawa, our library opened on June 17, 1965. Our busy regional library opens 6 days a week and is one of only 3 public libraries open on Sundays. In 2015, our library celebrated its 50th Anniversary.

The session will be led by May Kealoha, RN, a former nursing instructor at Kapiʻolani Community College. She is passionate about promoting wellness and enjoys offering educational workshops that support healthier, stronger local communities.

When the chilly chef proprietress of a Michelin-starred French restaurant in southern France gets wind of a culinary immigrant opening an Indian restaurant just 100 feet from her own, her icy protests escalate to all-out war between the two establishments. Join us for a Patriotic Sing along with Sing For Your Life! Since 2016, Sing For Your Life volunteers have been providing holiday-themed, sing-along entertainment at various venues throughout Oahu. With approximately 20 performances each year, our goal is to radiate so much fun & joy that people will want to join in and sing along with us. It’s a singing party. Volunteers are all members of the Lanakila Senior Center.

In this pulse-pounding adventure tale, WWII soldier Steve Rogers volunteers for a military experiment that transforms him into a superhero, and he uses his newfound abilities to protect America from a villain known as the Red Skull.

Kaimuki Public Library is pleased to invite you to attend a program related to America250 and the Declaration of Independence – “Sharing the Spirit of America”. “Sharing the Spirit of America,” is a nationwide program initiated and sponsored by the Hawaii America250 Commission. On July 8, 2026, communities in all 50 States and 5 Territories, the District of Columbia, and Minor Outlying Islands of the United States and in other countries around the world will read the U.S. Declaration of Independence together, at the same time, commemorating the first public reading on July 8, 1776, exactly 250 years ago. Kaimuki Public Library will be one of several locations in the state of Hawaii that will be participating in this worldwide event at 12:00 pm (HST)
The program will consist of two parts:
11:00 am (HST) – The Declaration of Independence: How Did It Happen? What Does It Say/Mean?
12:00 pm (HST) – Reading of the Declaration of Independence
This program is suitable for all ages. Children need to be accompanied by an adult, preferably a parent or legal guardian. Space in the meeting room is limited. You may reserve a spot by either calling 808-733-8422 or signing up in person at the Adult Reference Desk.

Come celebrate Hawaiian history, culture, and music with us! Join
Librarian Moki for a fascinating journey into Lā Kūʻokoʻa, the
Hawaiian Kingom’s Independence Day! Discover why the historic
holiday was so important and hear perspectives from kūpuna who
lived during the Hawaiian Kingdom.
Following this presentation, participants will learn and sing the
Kingdom of Hawaiʻi’s first National anthem, E ola ke aliʻi ke akua,
written by King Kamehameha VI (William Charles Lunalilo).
All ages are welcome. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or
