About

Welcome to the Thelma Parker Memorial Public and School Library! Designed by Team Pacific, Inc., our library opened in October 1978.  We are located on the campus of Waimea Elementary and Intermediate School. Our library was named after Thelma Parker, who inherited the Parker Ranch, the largest ranch on the Island of Hawaii.

Chromebook

Attend a free 90-minute session on how to use a Chromebook and cloud computing. Participants will learn:

  • Google Docs and word processing basics
  • Introduction to spreadsheets (Google Sheets)
  • File management using Google Drive
  • Cloud computing fundamentals
  • More email functions and organization

A partnership of Hawaii State Public Library System and the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Workforce Development Division. This project is fully funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration in the award amount of $479,064. Classes taught by Mapunawai, Inc.

  • Introduction to smartphones (and tablets)
  • Navigating key features (calls, texts, apps)
  • Internet browsing and email
  • Security best practices for mobile devices
  • Using smartphones and tablets for digital services like banking and telehealth

Participants are encouraged to bring their own smartphone or tablet device.
