20 years of Harry Potter calls for a celebration! In honor of the Boy Who Lived, the Kailua-Kona Public Library will host a Harry Potter movie night in the Children’s Section open to all ages. Wizards and witches are encouraged to wear their robes or house colors for the big event. The celebration will also include a house-sorting station featuring the Sorting Hat and Trolley witch-worthy snacks!
Light refreshments will be provided until supplies run out. Moviegoers are welcome to bring pillows and blankets to get comfy on our carpet floor. You are also welcome to bring personal dry snacks and beverages in closed containers. If you have any questions about movie snack appropriateness, please inquire with Ms. Jen the Children’s Librarian.
Fans new to and familiar with the series are also encouraged to take advantage of OverDrive’s digital library promotion. From August 27 to September 10, the ebook version of ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ will be available for unlimited access (hawaii.overdrive.com).
