An early 19th century census in Wainiha Valley listed 65 who identified themselves as Menehune. Attributed as a race of small people who labored at night building fishponds, roads, and heiau (temples). Kauaʻi Living Treasure and historian Aletha Kaʻohi shares the background of the “Mythical Menehune” for the Kauaʻi Historical Society. Auntie Aletha is an engaging speaker who will leave you spellbound with her knowledge and stories.
This program is sponsored by the Kauaʻi Historical Society.
