Beekeeping and Honey Production – Part 2

Join Jim Klyman, from the Big Island Beekeepers Association, for more in depth information on keeping bees and harvesting honey.  If you missed the first class come and ask questions.  

  • Harvesting Equipment – basic scraper/pot to hot knives and centrifuge.
  • Stuff you can make (products of the hive, honey, bee wax, propolis)
  • What it takes to maintain a hive: pests, how to inspect a hive, problems managing a hive.
  • Disease transfer prevention (sanitation/isolation procedures)
