Did you know that 2023 is the Year of the Kāhuli (snail)? Join us at the library to learn what these beautiful creatures do for our ecosystem and what we can do to help preserve them for the future. Pictured here are the Kāhuli species Achatinella Mustelina found in the forests of the Waiʻanae Mountain Range. Experts from the Division of Forestry and Wildlife will be here to tell us about the snail extinction prevention program, give us a close up look at the beautiful shells, and screen the new 30 minute PBS Hawaii documentary called Kāhuli.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. All programs are subject to change.
