Come enjoy delicious treats and listen to wonderful music by The Kīlauea Social Club at our annual holiday tea!
The Kīlauea Social Club was started informally around 1980. At that time, members of the club were mostly childhood friends and classmates who had grown up during Kauaʻi’s plantation days.
Influenced by the backyard unpolished and spontaneous music of the plantation and old Hawaiʻi called “Kanikapila,” we naturally carried on the tradition.
Being totally unprofessional, we allowed neophytes to join in. In this way we continued to grow and gain new members, as the older members passed away. In this way we not only carry on our love for “Kanikapila,” but their memories as well as others that inspire us.
