Growing Tomatoes in Hawaii: Historical Hawaiian tomatoes from 1941 to the late 60s, wild tomatoes, heirlooms, and hybrids

The Community Seed Library, sponsored by the Friends of the Libraries, Kona (F.O.L.K.), presents Gary Cass of Turnip Wagon Innovative Farming in Kalopa.  Highlights of Gary’s program will include working with historical Hawaiian tomatoes from 1941 to the late 60s, Wild tomatoes, Plant types, Heirlooms, Hybrids as well as information on growing tomatoes in Hawaii from sowing seed, transplanting, watering and fertilizer, weeds, pests, disease, harvesting, to saving seeds.

Program schedule is subject to change.  Contact the library 15 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
